Planning a trip to Denman and Hornby Islands

Getting There

Local BC Ferries (tel. 250/386-3431) operate year-round between Buckley Bay and Denman Island; the 18 daily ferry trips take 10 minutes each way, and round-trip tickets cost C$7.90 per passenger and C$19 per vehicle. To reach Hornby Island, you'll need first to cross to Denman; the ferry to Hornby leaves from Denman's southern shore. A dozen ferries daily make the 10-minute crossing between the two islands, with the same fares as above.

The islands are great for two-wheel exploration. Ferry passengers can bring bikes on the ferry for free; bike rentals are widely available.
