This charming white-washed cottage not far from the airport is a great hideaway from the hustle and bustle. It’s a taxi ride from the old town, but you’re close enough to the Peace Bridge to visit it on an evening stroll. Owners Dee and Jim are friendly and helpful; they know the city like the backs of their hands and will answer any questions you may have. Rooms are small but charming, with clean white linens and soft comforters and homey furnishings; even better, they have gorgeous views of the River Foyle and Donegal mountains. One room has an extra bed for families travelling with children. Once you’ve arrived, you can have tea or coffee in the guest lounge, and generally make yourself at home. Breakfast often features Dee’s fresh homemade bread.
