This is really the only true hotel and not condo/hotel in town. It was in need of a spruce up, and fortunately that's just what it got in early 2014. The resort debuted fully refurbished guest rooms, a redesigned indoor pool, and a much-needed modernization of the lobby. The hotel is nicely situated on the same property as the Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, with which it shares its golf and tennis facilities. Updated family-friendly rooms have bunk beds tucked into the walls immediately next to the door and include a separate media area for kids. This place is great for little ones, actually, with special kids' programs offered both day and night. A full-service spa, beachfront bar and grill, sushi restaurant, lounge, and highly regarded steakhouse are all pricey but conveniently on-site. There's also a market where you can pick up snacks, pizza, and ice cream, but not exactly at your whim—it closes on the earlier side. The beach is really why you are here and it's stunning, but a bit of a racket that you have to pay extra for chairs and umbrellas considering the hefty resort fees of 12 percent per night.
