If this lavish, colorful, intense spectacle can’t hold your attention for 30 minutes, you might require prescriptions. Audiences sit on benches in four quadrants (front rows are good for engaging with performers), and the event comes on buoyant and boisterously, like an acid trip during a rock concert. Four huge floats enter the room, topped with soft-looking giant puppets of Timon, Pumbaa, and African wildlife and attended by acrobats, stilt-walkers, flame jugglers, and dancers, all of whom get their turn to dazzle you with their acts, which are performed, of course, to the hit songs of the movie. Strategy: Shows are scheduled, and they can fill up, so arrive 30 minutes early. Unfortunately, although the theatre was just built in 2014, the seating is bleacher-style and lacks backs.
