Robert and Lucy’s roadside restaurant is the grand dame of Ojochal’s unexpectedly vibrant fine-dining scene. Only a handful of tables are found under the open-air thatched roof, and you’ll definitely want a reservation. Although rooted in classic French cuisine, the menu shows a wide range of worldly influences from Thailand, Africa, and Costa Rica. There are daily specials, as well as longstanding favorites, like the Chicken Exotica, which comes in a red-pepper sauce and is stuffed with bacon, prunes, and blue cheese. Note: Exotica is the farthest of the bunch from the main road, and you may think you’re lost before finding your way here.
