Getting There

Frequent trains run from Victoria Station or Charing Cross Station in London, daily from 5am to 10pm. You arrive at Priory Station, off Folkestone Road. During the day, two trains per hour depart from Canterbury East Station heading for Dover. For rail information, call tel. 0845/748-4950 or visit

Frequent buses leave throughout the day -- daily from 7am to 11:45pm -- from London's Victoria Coach Station bound for Dover. Call tel. 0871/781-81-81 for schedules, or visit The local bus station is on Pencester Road (no phone). Stagecoach provides daily bus service between Canterbury and Dover.

If you're driving from London, head first to Canterbury, and then continue along the A2 southeast until you reach Dover on the coast.

The Tourist Information Centre is on Old Town Gaol Street (tel. 01304/205108; June, July, and August it's open daily 9am to 5:30pm; September to April open hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm.
