Margaretta Inn
New ownership in 2014 turned this formerly tired roadside motorlodge (formerly the Margaretta Motel) into a really lovely and up-to-date boutique inn with a throwback vibe. Top-to-bottom renovations gave the rooms handsome hardwood floors, all-new bathroom fixtures, heated bathroom floors, nice mattresses with thick duvet covers, flat-screen TVs in every room, keyless entry, Keurig coffee machines, mini-fridges, and microwaves. Several refreshes since then have kept standards high. Real Maine maple syrup and fresh berries are nice touches on the continental breakfast. In general, the inn displays a level of cleanliness and attention to detail not commonly found in Downeast roadside lodging.
