This exceptionally sweet and welcoming little B&B on the Northside of Dublin is run by two of the most cultured and well-travelled hoteliers you’re likely to meet. Kevin, a filmmaker, and Garvan, a photographer, seem always to be campaigning to preserve some part of historic Dublin or other. That love for heritage shines through in the chic and beautiful restoration of their 1834 townhouse. The eponymous two guestrooms are spacious and filled with light, featuring antique brass beds and sunken baths. The Garden Room opens out onto a private patio, where breakfast can be taken if the sun’s out; or, in gloomier weather, you can light a fire in the original Victorian grate. TVs are banished to preserve the peaceful atmosphere, but each bedroom does have its own antique radio set. Delicious, home-cooked breakfasts make excellent use of seasonal produce and ethically sourced ingredients. This is simply one of the most charming and intimate B&Bs in Dublin.
