So much better than just another department store cafe, this eatery on the top floor of the famous Avoca shop is a great place for breakfast, lunch, or a mid-shopping snack. The morning menu is more varied and interesting than at most hotels: free-range scrambled eggs with arugula salad, several types of pancakes, French toast, and even the ubiquitous “full Irish.” Lunches are healthy and delicious—think superfood salad with roasted butternut squash, quinoa and blueberries, or rotisserie chicken with Caesar salad. The delicious soups are famous among locals. Or just drop in for an afternoon slice of cake and a restorative cup of tea.
