This cheerful little tearoom in the heart of Temple Bar is a delightful pit stop for a pot of tea and some form of sweet, diet-busting snack. Cakes and tarts are the specialty; it’s all good, but try the lemon meringue pie or the old-fashioned Victoria sponge (yellow cake with a jam and cream filling and a dusting of sugar on top). They also serve delicious, generously proportioned breakfasts until 11:30am during the week, 1pm on Saturday, and a decadent 2pm on Sunday. At lunchtime you can order soups or sandwiches, but it’s the cakes that keep us coming back. A second branch is just around the corner on Lord Edward Street, directly opposite the junction with Cork Hill (with City Hall on the corner.
