The Dreel Tavern, 16 High St. (tel. 01333/310-727; www.thedreeltavern.co.uk), was a 16th-century coaching inn and is now a wood-and-stone pub where locals gather to unwind in the evening. Carlsberg-Tetley, Harviestown Bitters Twisted, London Pride, and Speckled Hen are available on hand pump, along with two "guest beers" that change weekly. The tavern also serves steak pie, roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, smoked fish, and local crab. It's open Monday to Saturday 11am to midnight and Sunday noon to 11pm.
