As if there wasn't enough to learn about Scotland in Edinburgh's various museums, this venue tells the tale of Earth, from the theories of the Big Bang to the populated planet we inhabit today. There are some convincing displays, too, such as a rain forest and the tip of an iceberg. It is all presented under big-top-style fabric roof in the shadow of the Salisbury Crags and adjacent the national Parliament building. Please note that last entry is 1.5 hours prior to closing.
