Planning a trip to Elblag
There is a tourist information point (Brama Targowa; tel. 55/611-08-20; www.ielblag.pl) in the Market Gate in the north of the Old Town. From mid-June to September, it's open daily from 10am to 6pm. Off season, it's open weekdays only from 10am to 4pm. If all you need is information about boat rides on the canal, the operator of the leisure boats, Zegluga Ostródzko-Elblaska (Wodna 1B; tel. 55/232-43-07; www.zegluga.com.pl), is located in the Old Town along the canal.
Getting There
By Car -- From Gdansk, take Road no. 77 followed by Road no. 22 into the Old Town. There's parking right by the Old Town on Rycerska Street. Within the Old Town, if you're early enough, there's parking around the church on Mostowa Street.
By Bus or Train -- The bus and train stations are next to each other to the southwest of the Old Town. Regular PKS (www.pks.elblag.pl) buses run from Gdansk and take about 90 minutes. Similarly, there are regular trains from Gdansk that take about 75 minutes. To get to the Old Town, tram nos. 1, 2, and 4 drop you off at the crossing of pl.
