Pure Colorado and full of quirks, the Baldpate Inn has long stood under the watchful gaze of the Twin Sisters, aptly named peaks waiting to be summited by trails right out of the front door. Named after the 1913 mystery novel, “The Seven Keys to Baldpate,” the key room here has 20,000 keys hanging from the ceiling and walls, donated by guests over the years. Rooms are basic, with quilts and shared or private baths; there are also a quartet of cabins here that can accommodate up to six guests. The restaurant is known for its tasty soup-and-salad buffets.
