St. Olaves Court Hotel
Set in its own walled garden close to the cathedral, this intimate hotel was created from an 1827 town house. The location is topnotch (right in the center and with abundant parking spaces), as is the bedding. On the downside, some of the rooms could use refreshing: you'll see a scuff mark here, and a chip of paint gone there. It's not a cleaning problem (all the rooms are quite tidy), the hotel just needs a renovation. That being said, the breakfasts are quite good and guests can get gourmet dinners in the hotel’s Treasury Restaurant, another plus.
