Faro Old Town
Faro's Old Town spreads south from the picturesque marina and Manuel Bivar Gardens through the city's 19th-century Italianate Arco da Vila towards the city's medieval Moorish ramparts. Close by are narrow streets of white-washed houses, the 16th-century Sé Cathedral, and the Archaeological Museum that houses Roman remains. It's worth walking north of the marina to the Capela dos Ossos, a macabre church "decorated" with human bones.
