If a gated courtyard right in the center appears rather a grand address for a hostel, that is because this is no ordinary student traveler dive. The two private rooms (one with an en-suite bathroom) come plainly decorated, certainly, with whitewashed walls and functional furniture. But they are also bright and spacious, and include linen and towels in the (bargain) price. Communal areas are comfy, staff is full of advice, and the place is small, spotless, and within a minute’s walk of both the Duomo and “David.” You will need to book well ahead to bag a room here: They go fast, especially in high season.
