As the name suggests, this hotel is an homage to the clock, with historic timepiece designs scattered artfully about. The remaining color palette is rich, with mahogany wood and natural leather everywhere. The cheapest rooms (“Superior”) are not large, but their marble bathrooms are, and library-like, wood-paneled common areas are spacious and comfortable. Staff is superb. This is rapidly becoming Florence’s most sought-after accommodation in the neighborhood: It’s atmospheric, very close to the train station, and the view from its top-floor breakfast room is a showstopper.
