Getting There — Trains to Fontainebleau leave from the Gare de Lyon (schedules and info at www.transilien.fr). The trip takes 40 minutes and costs 9€ for adults and 5.10€ for children ages 4 to 10 one-way. Get off the train at Fontainebleau–Avon and take the local bus (line 1), direction Lilas, to the Chateau stop; the fare is 2€ one-way; you can also use a regular metro ticket. The buses come frequently and are timed to arrive at the arrival of the train from Paris. If you’re driving, take A6 south from Paris, exit Fontainebleau.
