This bargain lodging on the quiet end of the bustling Hollywood Broadwalk is often booked months in advance by return guests (mostly Europeans) who want to be directly on the beach without paying a fortune. The hosts of this superclean 1950s motel, Claudia and Karl Herzog, live on the premises and keep things running smoothly. All rooms have fully equipped kitchens with fridges, stoves, utensils, and glassware and have been redecorated here and at the Herzogs’ other, even less expensive property next door, the 11-unit Bougainvillea. Guests at both hotels share the Sea Downs’ pool.
