Hidden away several blocks off the beach, the Pillars is a more intimate luxury option, the prime pick of the enclave known as North Beach Village, between Atlantic Boulevard and the Intracoastal Waterway. A genteel, island-planation-style vision in yellow and white, it’s got just two floors and 22 luxurious rooms with eclectic decor (some plantation chic here, a touch of mid-century-mod there) and of course the up-to-date amenities you’d expect at a Small Luxury Hotels of the World member. Out back is a modest-sized kidney-shape pool, along with a dock where you can dine with sweet views of the water and the yachts gliding by. The service is discreet, friendly, and attentive. A library area (with more than 500 books) is at guests’ disposal…as is pretty much anything else you request here.
