Right on the main drag, and within spitting distance of his uber-successful Lonesome Dove restaurant, star Chef Tim Love has created this fab burger shack. With mostly outdoor seating, its part counter and part kiosk, and it dispenses delicious burgers on store-bought buns and cardboard trays, with nothing on the menu more than ten bucks,. But that burger will hit the spot, especially after a day of exploring "Cowtown". A blend of tenderloin and brisket, the patties are loosely packed and marvelously juicy and sometimes over-the-top indulgent (the "Dirty Love" burger piles on bacon, fried quail egg, and "love sauce.") Don't feel like a burger? Go for the Flying Texas Dog, a chicken-apple bratwurst with onions and green chiles sided by Crazy Good Onion Rings. Beer and wine, fresh lemonade, root beer on tap, milkshakes (a different one each day), and live country music are also on tap.
