Crowne Plaza Fredericton Lord Beaverbrook
The Crowne boasts the best location in town, right beside the Beaverbrook Art Gallery and across the street from the Fredericton Playhouse. It looks boxy from the street, but inside, the mood lightens, thanks to composite stone floors, and an ornate central staircase and chandeliers. Like many hotels of its vintage, it’s gone through recent extensive renovations so shows very well. The suites here are spacious and outfitted with Jacuzzis; many have excellent river views. There’s an indoor pool and recreation area downstairs. The two choices for on-site dining are Maxwell’s, the main dining area with a deck overlooking the river, and The Joyce for traditional pub fare washed down with a craft beer or cider. There, a huge menu of New Brunswick brews—billed as the largest in the world—is served alongside live entertainment.
