]While Brewbakers is no longer the most contemporary of restaurants in the downtown, it’s still very much in the game. Stretched across three levels in a cleverly adapted former bakery, it’s a bustling and informal meeting spot creatively cluttered with art and artifacts. Lunch hours and early evenings get very busy. The cafe section is quieter, as is a mezzanine dining room, while the third floor bustles with an open kitchen. Lunch features excellent sandwiches: smoked fishcakes, flavorful flatbreads, and blackened chicken club, for example. For dinner, the tapas selection is impressive. Pastas are the main attraction for entrees. The cocktail menu and the selection of local beers are on tap are notable.
