Caribbean Flavas
Trinidadian immigrant Naz Ali opened Caribbean Flavas in 2004, bringing a taste of island life to Fredericton with family recipes for authentic Caribbean dishes like guava BBQ beef ribs, Jamaican jerk chicken, and homemade coconut bread. Over the years, the restaurant’s flavorful menu, vibrant tropical décor and sounds of Caribbean music have made it a local favorite and gained Ali, also known as DJ Nasty Naz, significant recognition and the opportunity to cook and cater for celebrities like the Trailer Park Boys, Justin Bieber, and Snoop Dogg. Interestingly, the restaurant was born out of a business school project, developed by Ali while attending the University of New Brunswick; his professors thought the plan was a terrible idea, but he forged ahead anyway and the rest is just history.
