A Day at the Beach
One of the best public sandy beaches is the Blue Flag beach of Plage Port Fréjus, situated by the new marina. Centrally located Fréjus Plage and Plage de la Galiote in St-Aygulf are both partly private sandy beaches where you can rent beach recliners and umbrellas. Further along from Plage de la Galiote is the public sandy beach Plage St-Aygulf -- it's worth noting that there is a small nude beach (bordering the Etangs de Villepey). There is a well-maintained 1.5km (1 mile) beach at Base Nature (tel. 04-94-51-91-10; http://base.nature.free.fr), the Var's largest theme park bar; it's supervised during the summer months.
