Amid the scattering of seafood takeout and lobster shops in and around the park, one good pick is Butland’s (www.fundylobster.com; tel. 506/887-2190) at 8607 Main St. in Alma beside the town wharf. They sell locally caught crustaceans, scallops, and smoked salmon you can cook yourself. The most upbeat of the seafood eateries is the beachside eat in/takeout seafood shack at called Alma Lobster Shop at 36 Shore Lane (www.thankfultoo.com/alma; tel. 506/887-1987) where you can find a good lobster roll. There’s also a bakery in Alma, Kelly’s Bake Shop S at 8587 Main St. (tel. 506/887-2460). They serve big, locally famous sticky buns. My favorite restaurant in Alma is An Octopus’ Garden Café at 8561 Main St. (tel. 506/887-1020) just beyond the cluster of other restaurants. The house made pasta here is prepared in a variety of classic styles. There’s good craft beer on tap and a corner of the café is set up for musicians who perform here regularly.
