Planning a trip to Fussen

By Bus -- For bus service along the Romantic Road, see “Bus Tours of the Romantic Road”. Regional service is provided by Regionalverkehr Oberbyaern (tel. 089/551640; www.rvo-bus.de), which runs 19 buses a day to the royal castles, costing 2.10€ for the 8-minute trip.

By Car -- The trip from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Füssen by car is via the B23 and the B17 and takes about an hour.

Contact the Kurverwaltung, Kaiser-Maximilian-Platz 1 (tel. 08362/93850; www.fuessen.de). Hours vary but are usually Monday to Friday 8:30am to 6:30pm, Saturday 9am to 2:30pm, and Sunday 10am to noon in summer; and in winter Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to noon.
