Seneca Lake is one of the two largest of the 11 Finger Lakes. Pontoon and fishing-boat rentals are available from Roy's Marina, West Lake Road (Rte. 14; tel. 315/789-3094). Seneca Lake State Park, routes 5 and 20, is on the north end of the lake; it's a good spot for strolls, and small kids will love the new playground and water sprays for cooling off in the summer heat. Seneca Lake is known for its lake trout fishing, and catches at the annual National Lake Trout Derby sometimes almost top the 100-pound mark.
