Following a stylish makeover, this deluxe lakeside hotel has left its period pomp in the past.  The emphasis now is very much on ultra-modern décor in its numerous rooms and suites, which all boast lake views. The spa is sumptuous and Zen-inspired, and the hotel has one of Geneva’s very few private outdoor swimming pools. Dining options include Arabesque, which serves Lebanese cuisines, and the Bayview Restaurant, run by the much-acclaimed French chef Michel Roth, which gained its first Michelin star in 2014 for its inventive European cuisine. The Royal Penthouse Suite draws a particularly distinguished clientele—it is reputedly the most expensive hotel suite in the world.
