Trains (SNCF; for schedules, visit www.oui.sncf) leave almost every hour from the Gare St-Lazare train station to Vernon, the closest stop to Giverny, which is about 7km (4.5 miles) away. The trip takes around 45 minutes and costs 9€ to 24€. From Vernon you can either take a shuttle bus (10€ round-trip) or rent a bike at the station (L’Arrivé de Giverny; tel. 02-32-21-16-01; 17€/day) and pedal there on the marked bike path.

If you’re driving, take the Autoroute A14 to the A13 toward Rouen. Take exit 16 for Vernon and follow the D181 across the Seine into the town. From Vernon, take the D5 to Giverny. Expect it to take about an hour from Paris; try to avoid weekends.
