This quirky reinvention of a vintage 1960s motor lodge is my favorite place to stay in Kanab. The rooms are colorful and uniquely decorated, with little touches like lavender-vanilla linen spray on the nightstand, premium amenities in the bathroom, and eclectic artwork on the walls. There's a touch of intentional kitsch—you might have a lemon-yellow lamp or sculptures of hands making the OK sign—as this blast from the past doesn't take itself too seriously. Up the street and under the same ownership is the summer-only Canyons Lodge (www.canyonslodge.com), a woodsy property with log walls, faux taxidermy, and similar rates.
