This dining room has better views than any restaurant on the South Rim, with banks of windows overlooking Transept Canyon, an especially scenic segment of the Grand Canyon. The fare is not as creative as what is served at the ritzy El Tovar across the canyon, but there are more vegetarian and healthy options. Dinners range from grilled vegetables and pasta to bison flank steak and grilled salmon with polenta. Breakfast and lunch are fairly traditional American. (Both feature hot buffets as well as a la carte choices.) Reservations are highly recommended for dinner, but not accepted for breakfast or lunch.
