One thing’s for sure: You won’t get bored by basing yourself out of this bustling resort. You can sign up for a wide range of activities on site, including paddling, fishing excursions, horseback riding, rafting, and wagon rides; a swimming beach and marina also grant access to DIY water recreationists. Lodging is cabin-style: rustic buildings (renovated for 2017) complete with gingham curtains and log wall interiors. There are also sparse tent cabins consisting of pull-down bunks and thin mattress in canvas shelters; as with Flagg Ranch, you’re probably better off camping at the adjacent campground and saving 45 bucks. An RV park rounds out the offerings.
