Things take a decidedly upscale turn just 5 miles down the road at Jackson Lake Lodge, one of the two fanciest options in the park (Jenny Lake Lodge is even more luxurious). The lodge’s upper lobby delivers the biggest wow factor: cozy stone fireplaces in the corners, a stuffed grizzly, and most impressively, 60-foot-wide picture windows facing the Tetons and Mt. Moran. You’ll also find several boutiques carrying Western wear and jewelry, plus an activities desk that can hook you up with rafting trips, horseback rides, and guided park tours. And though it’s quite chic, a playground and the only pool in park lodging make Jackson Lake Lodge family-friendly, too. Lodge rooms are well-appointed and have double beds; even nicer are the cottages tucked into the woods around the lodge, which have patios. In both cases, you’ll pay more for a mountain view.
