Teylers Museum
The oldest public museum in the Netherlands was established here in 1784 by a private collector. It contains a curious collection of displays: drawings by Michelangelo, Raphael, and Rembrandt (which are exhibited in rotation); fossils, minerals, and skeletons; and instruments of physics and an odd assortment of inventions, including the largest electrostatic generator in the world (1784) and a 19th-century radarscope.
