Hanoi's popularity has boomed among backpackers in recent years, so much so that there is now a whole new breed of hostel catering to their needs, such as a cheap bed, comfort food, opportunities to party, and cheap trips to Halong Bay. Though there are many budget places trying to cater to the young party crowd, Hanoi Backpackers leads the way, offering a combination of plain dorms and private rooms with bright bedspreads and colorful art on the walls. They now have two places in Hanoi, of which the one on Ma May is best located for nightlife, and they have also set up shop in Hue.
