Planning a trip to Herzlia

Getting There

By Bus -- An Egged bus from Allenby Street in Tel Aviv to Herzlia takes about 45 minutes; fare is NIS 9 ($2.25/£1.10). From Herzlia you take Herzlia Municipal Bus no. 29 to the beach; the fare is NIS 5.60 ($1.40/70p). If you tell the Tel Aviv bus driver that you want to go to the beach, he'll let you out at the connecting bus stop near the highway, saving you a trip into town.

By Car -- Herzlia is on a main highway, 20 minutes north of Tel Aviv.

Visitor Information

Herzlia's sprawling layout is confusing for the first-time visitor. The luxury Sharon Hotel, right on the beach, is a major landmark. Inland just a block is De Shalit Square (Kikar De Shalit), around which you'll find a moderately priced hotel and affordable restaurants. Many fine (and more expensive) restaurant choices are located inland at the New Industrial Center.
