Charlie's is the only restaurant on Hilton Head that conjures up its entire meal each and every day based on what local seafood comes in on the docks. It's an ambitious program; on any given visit you might find grilled snapper, local cobia, and tilapia among other fruits of the sea. With a fine French country feel, the premises are conductive to a couple's night out. The setting is unpretentious but elegant, with vivid accent colors offsetting white tablecloths and rustic chairs. Visitors looking for something a bit more casual might slide on over to the bar for happy hour, which runs from 5 to 7pm Monday through Saturday, featuring baked goat cheese, pâté maison, and chicken crepes. All wines are half off on Mondays (the house wine list has been awarded Wine Spectator's Best of Award of Excellence).
