Staying in one of these traditional homes, some dating all the way back to the middle ages, is a truly memorable experience.  And you won't be dealing with medieval amenities: the homes have been sensitively modernized to include modern kitchens and bathrooms (along with comfortable beds).  Several houses on the narrow lanes of the town (so narrow no cars are allowed in) have exposed stonework, vaulted ceilings, and other atmospheric touches. They also have very small windows, but we think the lack of natural light is more than made up for by the unique experience of living in homes this old. The homes were part of a National Tourism Board of Greece initiative to save historic properties.
