A bus and ferry take you to Bruny Island, where (after morning tea) you then take a three-hour boat trip along the coastline to a seal colony and a memorable (but sometimes wet; warm shower-proof coats are provided) foray into the wild Southern Ocean. It’s a pleasant day out, but for the hours spent, serious wildlife fans might be disappointed. The trip costs A$195 for adults, A$140 for children 3 to 16.
