The classic Homer camping spot is nestled amid the sand and pebbles of Homer Spit, where you can hear the sea and the wind flaps your tent. In addition to being a great spot, it's also a great deal. The city charges $8 for tents, $15 for RVs—payable at the Camp Fee Office, located in a small log cabin on the spit, across the road from the fishing hole (907/235-1583, summer only). For RV hookups, the Driftwood Inn has a nice, enclosed campground with good facilities near Bishops Beach, charging $29 to $49 for a site.
