Don't go looking in Lan Kwai Fong for this place, because this boutique hotel is actually located in Sheung Wan, surrounded by small family-owned shops and very close to the SoHo nightlife district, Graham Street vegetable market, and Hollywood Road with its antique shops and trendy restaurants. In sharp contrast to mundane chain hotels, this hotel makes its mark with Oriental decor and hip Chinese touches, including an appealing lobby that sports live turtles, considered to bring good luck. Rooms, too, contain decorative stone turtles that conceal Internet cables and are decorated with red and gold accents (lucky colors), Chinese artwork, and quirky touches like Chinese-style doors leading to small bathrooms sporting bamboo ladders as towel racks. Because standard rooms are small, spring for a deluxe harbor-view corner room if you can, where you can see the harbor in the distance. Some rooms have shower only, and you have to pay for Internet in your room, so head down to the outdoor BreeZe Lounge where Wi-Fi is free, as is coffee and tea all day.
