I've always loved this shady street, with its colonial-era Royal Observatory and huge banyan trees. Knutsford Terrace with its al-fresco restaurants and bars is just around the corner. The hotel is rather small by Hong Kong standards (it predates the boutique hotel rage by several decades), giving it a more intimate atmosphere despite its central location. Standard rooms, mostly twins, are small and simple, with duvet-covered beds, wall-mounted TVs, and mundane "city views," but more expensive rooms are larger (some of these face the observatory). Although it's an uphill hike to the hotel (where else would an observatory be?), there's free shuttle service to various Kowloon locations a half-dozen or so times a day.
