Madame Ning was a 1930s Shanghainese socialite who traveled to far-flung places (African safaris and Alpine skiing were among her favorite pastimes). This intimate venue, decorated to resemble her boudoir, looks like she could return any moment, with perfume bottles, cheongsam Chinese dresses, paintings, sofas, travel souvenirs, and personal artifacts casually placed about. To commemorate her exotic lifestyle, indulge in a glass of champagne or a signature Ning Sling cocktail (like the Ning Sling with vodka, lychee liqueur, orange juice, passion-fruit purée, and fresh mint) while listening to live music. Patrons are often inspired to get their groove back on the small dance floor. Sadly, a fantasy-filled evening here is just that, for Madame Ning was dreamed up by the salon's designer. Dress is smart casual, meaning no flip flops and, for men, no sleeveless shirts or shorts. Cocktails run from about HK$125 to HK$200.
