Hotel Amfora
This vast, Yugoslav-era hotel, originally built in the 1970s, sits on its own bay a 10-minute walk west of Hvar’s main square. After 2008 renovations, its rooms and suites are chic and comfortable. The main draw is the landscaped front garden, complete with cascading pools and artificial islets with palm trees, making it a good choice for families with kids. Note that although the Bonj “les bains” beach club appears to be part of the Amfora, hotel guests are still obliged to pay a surcharge for using its facilities.
