Port-Cros’s only hotel is within an 18th-century whitewashed building. Accommodation may be simple—crisp white sheets, oversized copper vases, terra-cotta tiled floors—but guests stay here to truly switch off. Paddle in the pool, head out for a hike, or simply amble the surrounding palm and eucalyptus-studded gardens. Rates are half-board, although plenty of day trippers visit for the restaurant’s hearty three-course lunch (66€), which can include monkfish medallions with kaffir lime, and local rockfish soup.
