Active Pursuits in Inishowen Peninsula

Beaches -- Ballyliffin, Buncrana, Greencastle, and Moville have safe, sandy beaches ideal for swimming or strolling.

Golf -- A definite center for golf in Ireland, the Inishowen has four 18-hole golf courses. Two are at the Ballyliffin Golf Club, Ballyliffin (www.ballyliffingolfclub.com; 074/937-6119). Greens fees are €140 to €160. The North West Golf Club, Fahan, Buncrana (www.northwestgolfclub.com; 074/936-1715), founded in 1890, is a par-69 seaside course with greens fees of around €50 weekdays, €60 weekends. After 4pm the twilight rate is €30. Greencastle Golf Course in Greencastle (www.greencastlegolfclub.com; 074/938-1013) is a par-69 parkland course with greens fees of around €25 to €30.
