Watching the fiery sunset over the glassy waters of Lough Swilly certainly makes for a romantic backdrop to dinner. No doubt this is one reason why this charming little restaurant gets so busy, but the food also lives up to expectations. All seafood served here has been caught by local fishing boats. Start with a subtly spiced plate of fresh-caught mussels cooked in Irish ale and move on to pan-fried hake, or Irish steak. The weekend lunch menu is half the price of dinner; come before 6:45pm on Thursday and Friday (or 6pm Sat) for early bird menus—just €21 for 2 courses, or €25 for 3. Reservations are recommended.
