Restaurants in Jackson Hole
Jackson has more dining options than any other city in Wyoming. You'll find the predictable steak/seafood/pasta menus -- usually injected with a few de rigueur wild-game dishes, too -- but you'll also find more-unusual options. For a morning jump-start, head to Shades Cafe, 82 S. King St. (tel. 307/733-2015), which serves good coffee, sandwiches, and other breakfast and lunch entrees. Another a.m. stalwart, the Betty Rock Cafe, 325 W. Pearl Ave. (tel. 307/733-0747), serves creative breakfasts and plenty of espresso. Serving big, tasty slabs of New York-style pizza, Café Ponza, 50 W. Broadway (tel. 307/734-2720; www.cafeponza.com) is the only place to eat in Jackson proper after the bars close (cash only). D.O.G., Glenwood St. and Broadway (tel. 307/733-4422) serves coffee, burgers, and superlative breakfast burritos for breakfast and lunch and transforms into Everest Momo Shack Thursday through Monday evenings to plate up Nepalese cuisine. And 3,000 feet above Teton Village, Couloir, accessible via gondola (tel. 307/739-2675), offers creative Western fare and incredible views.

Bin 22
Owner Gavin Fine (a sommelier and co-owner of The Kitchen, Q Roadhouse, Il Villaggio Osteria, and Rendezvous Bistro) envisioned Bin 22 as a one-stop shop: a laid-back place to pick up a bottle of wine and a few groceries as well as sit down to Spanish- and Italian-style small plates.…$$Around Town - New American
Café Genevieve
The log cabin housing this welcoming café doesn’t just look old—a couple of early settlers built it in the early 1900s. Today, the café serves Southern-inspired food with a local, seasonal flair. Every day kicks off with a hearty brunch, served until 3pm, which stars fried chicken…$$Around Town - New American
Gather
Executive chef Clark Myers left the outstanding Jenny Lake Lodge (see chapter 7) for this new-in-2015 spot. Gather shares Jenny Lake’s commitment to local, seasonal ingredients, but this downtown Jackson restaurant has a much sleeker, modern feel. The menu is a combination of…$$$Jackon Hole - New American
Spur
All shiny, dark wood, flickering firelight, and modern lines, Spur fits right into the contemporary design of its host, the Teton Mountain Lodge. Chef Kevin Humphreys offers a thoughtfully curated menu that showcases local and organic ingredients. Look for appetizers such as tuna…$$$Around Town - Steak / Seafood
The Local
Jackson is a steak lover’s town, and this swanky downtown stop is one of the best places around to enjoy a lovingly prepared slab of meat. The Local partners with area ranchers to serve grass-fed, hormone-free steaks. Trout, fried chicken, buffalo medallions, and an excellent (if…$$$Around Town - New American
Trio
Jackson’s dining scene can be a web of interconnections, with top chefs hopping between restaurants or branching out from established favorites to open their own hot spots. So it is with Trio, started by three chefs from the excellent Snake River Grill. The spinoff has earned its…$$$Around Town
